About MS

Mass spectrometry is about 100 years old and today is one of the most powerful methods of molecular analyis available. It is used in many different areas of science and engineering. Mass spectrometers are sophisticated and expensive instruments that require highly skilled operators.

This section of the BMSF web site provides an overview of modern mass spectrometry for school students and those with only rudimentary scientific knowledge.

Links are also provided to more detailed information in external sites on mass spectrometry.
