Role & Research Interests

As Director of the BMSF I am responsible for leading the facility in its mission to enable research and to develop BMSF capability for users. I work closely with partner groups and organisations to strengthen Australia's research synergy and capability. My research interests focus on building capability in mass spectromety, e.g., design and fabrication of new, commercially viable, mass spectrometric instrumentation for chemical and biochemical analysis; development of software for modeling, designing and building scientific instrumentation; advanced methods of chemical analysis involving mass spectrometry, including fast chromatography with mass spectrometry, high resolution time-of-flight mass spectrometry, electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry and matrix assisted laser desorption mass spectrometry.
