Role & Interests

George Smythe’s main research interests include the roles of neurotransmitters, tryptophan metabolism and pro-inflammatory mediators in CNS disease and brain ageing. This research has depended largely on the development of unique mass spectrometric methods for characterization and analysis of the molecules under investigation.
