The Bioanalytical Mass Spectrometry Facility (BMSF) is part of the
UNSW Analytical Centre
which falls under the
Division of the Deputy
Vice Chancellor of Research (DVC).
The BMSF is governed by a Board made up of the DVC Research (Chair),
Deans of Science, Medicine and Engineering and the Director of the Analytical Centre. The Board is advised by the
Analytical Centre Management Group (Managing Director, Directors and Managers of the Analytical Centre Facilities).
The BMSF is also advised by a
Reference Group
of users who provide feedback towards maximising capability and accessibility of the facility.
The BMSF receives infrastructure funding from the NSW Governement in recognition of its role
in providing access to advanced 'omic' mass spectrometry for the NSW and national research sectors. This
funding establishes the BMSF as a Facility in the National Collaborative Research Infrastucture Strategy
(NCRIS) in partnership with Bioplatforms Australia (BPA). The BMSF reports to BPA and to the NSW
Government in regard to this role and receives governance in relation to its effectiveness in the
national research network via the Board of BPA.
